Port Douglas Yacht Club proudly presents the 2018 Quicksilver Port Douglas Race Week, and invites all yachts to join us for a week of Sailing, Food & Fun.
We are fortunate to enjoy one of the best playgrounds for our sport that nature could provide and this year we will be hosting a huge array of events all to be sailed on the beautiful waters of the Coral Sea off Port Douglas. This year’s regatta will be held over 5 days, with the first day of racing commencing on Tuesday 22nd of May and concluding on Saturday 26th May. The sailing schedule includes racing around the stunning Low Isle and Snapper Islands, as well as some technical racing off the famous Four Mile Beach.
Moonlight Cinema is in Port Douglas located in a beautiful open garden and runs from June – to early October. Movies are screened on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights outside of school holidays, and Tuesday-Sunday nights during school holidays.
Moonlight Cinema is Port Douglas’s favourite outdoor cinema, showing new release films and classics under the stars in the tropical night sky’s .
The iconic RRR Mountain Bike Challenge is the longest running ‘point to point’ race in Australia that has run every year since 1991. It is a visually spectacular race, with three diverse terrains: rural, rainforest and reef, encountered and dominated, with a great downhill section.
The RRR Mountain Bike Challenge entices over 400 participants across the 35km and 70km race distances, which finish on the iconic Four Mile Beach amongst runners and paddlers undertaking events in the Adventure Festival.
The Run for the Great Barrier Reef Fund has been established as a partnership between the Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival and James Cook University.
$20 is donated from every registration in the 21km, 42.2km and 74km Ultra Marathon are donated to the fund.
The 3 day event will feature food stalls, wine tastings and talks, master classes, demonstrations, celebrity chefs dinners, live music and more. Come and experience Port Douglas, the culinary highlight of the region, and celebrate great food & wine, the producers, the restaurateurs, chefs, industry professionals all against the stunning backdrop of the sparkling Coral Sea.
Organisers Reina and Spencer Patrick, owners of Bucci Ristorante and hatted Harrisons Restaurant and Bar, are very excited to launch the event and hope to match the standard set by the Noosa Food & Wine Festival which is a food lovers paradise.

The main goal of ‘Taste’ is to raise awareness of the exceptional produce that this region has to offer.
