Check In And Check Out
Check in time is 3:00pm on the day of arrival. Should the apartment be available an early check-in can be arranged on the day. Check out time is 11:00am on day of departure. Late check out can be arranged, subject to availability. Luggage can be stored for you by our friendly staff.

Minimum Stay
A minimum stay of 3 consecutive nights applies. 2 night minimum stay is available on request for studio rooms.

Airport transfers can be arranged for your journey to and from Shantara Resort. A Private Vehicle at a cost of $190.00 one way (2 People), subject to availability. We can organize a Private Limousine transfer at a cost of $267.00 one way (2 People); or a Shuttle Bus for $52.00 per person one way. Please follow this link, Transfer Request, complete all details on the form, click the submit button and we will take care of the rest

NB: For early morning flights, please book room for the day before to secure an early check in.

Please note that children from the age of 16 years old are welcome.

No Party Policy
Shantara Resort Port Douglas is a Romantic Getaway Resort for Couples and not suitable for families with young children or party groups. We respect all guests in house and ask all other guests to do the same with noise levels. No Party Policy means you will be asked to leave the resort if a disturbance is affecting other guests in the resort.

No Smoking Policy
Shantara Resort Port Douglas is a non smoking property. Guests wishing to smoke must leave the property grounds.

Reception Hours
Weekdays – 8am to 6pm, Weekends / Public Holidays – 9am to 4pm. Guests checking in outside Reception hours please advise the Shantara Team,  we will then be able to advise the procedure of access and assistance for after hours.

Shantara Guests can contact one of the Shantara Team members after hours from their apartment telephone, there is always someone on call to assist.

Payment Methods
Payment of accommodation deposit can be made by Visa or MasterCard.

Payment of accommodation or sundry accounts in residence can be made in cash, Visa or MasterCard.

While in residence, a room account for tours, telephone calls, transfers, etc… will be held until the end of your stay for payment. A pre-authority (swipe) of your credit card will be required as security upon check in..

Payment Terms
To secure your reservation one night’s accommodation will be processed against the credit card provided. The balance of your booking is payable 30 days prior to arrival.

Bookings that are made within 30 days of travel full amount will be deducted.

Last Minute or bookings to travel within 30 days the full amount will be deducted and NO REFUND once confirmed.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received in writing by email, to Shantara Resort Port Douglas. Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have written confirmation from Shantara Resort Port Douglas.  If you have not received acknowledgement within two days, please contact us at the resort on (07) 4084 1400.

Cancellations received 30 days or more prior to the arrival date – the deposit will be refunded in full less a $100.00 administration / cancellation fee per room . The administration fee covers the cost of processing the booking, receipting the booking and banking the money, cancelling the booking from the system, processing refund via electronic medium and meeting bank charges.

Cancellations received 30 days or less to the arrival date, or amendments to the booking, or failure to arrive at the hotel, a cancellation fee of the full amount of the booking will be charged (i.e if booked for 5 nights then 5 nights’ accommodation will be charged). There is no refund for early departures and a full accommodation cost will be incurred. This policy is applied to cover the distinct possibility of our inability to relet the room at that late stage. Should the room be relet a refund of the booking difference will be applied, less a $100 administration / cancellation fee per room.

We strongly recommend travel insurance should any stay need to be altered or cancelled  before, during or following arrival for any reason or circumstances including natural events. If some unforeseen circumstance happens inside the 30 days prior to arrival that is not our fault you will lose your monies.
