The Shantara Resort Port Douglas is a boutique resort-style complex, providing guests with luxury self-contained apartments with personalised service in a friendly, relaxed environment. The 4.5 star adults-only resort opened its doors in 2007, with a range of accommodation options, two lagoon style pools, a gymnasium and a day spa.

The open tropical-styled three storey complex features classical North Queensland architecture and offers your choice of spacious studio rooms or large comfortable one bedroom self-contained apartments, with either an outdoor Jacuzzi (Hot Tub) or direct pool access. 2 bedroom apartments are also available on request.

STUDIO ROOMS

STUDIO ROOMS POOL VIEW

Ideal for the short stay, our studio rooms are well appointed with a king bed, kitchenette with tea/coffee facilities, bar sized fridge and microwave oven. The bathroom is modern and spacious with a full shower, and a comfortable balcony to relax on after a day of sightseeing.

STUDIO ROOMS POOL DECK

Internally have the same features as the pool view studio rooms but have that added extra area outdoors with access to the pool directly from your balcony area without leaving your room. (the sole purpose of the deck is to provide direct access to the pool and not all have individual timber decks)

1 BEDROOM APARTMENTS

1 BEDROOM APARTMENTS POOL VIEW

Open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas with all the modern conveniences. The bedroom is separated from the living area by sliding Japanese screens, and the bathroom has a spa bath tub and a separate shower recess. Glass sliding doors open to the large and comfortably furnished balcony.

1 BEDROOM APARTMENTS POOL DECK

Only 4 of these One Bedroom Pool Deck Apartment are available. Have the same features as the 1 bedroom pool view apartments but have the additional feature of the timber pool decks that extend from the balcony area to the pool for easy access to the pool without leaving your apartment (the sole purpose of the deck is to provide direct access to the pool and they are not individual timber decks). Shantara does have 2 pools, both are heated in the winter months.

SHANTARA APARTMENTS

Only 4 of our special Shantara Apartments are available, great should you be celebrating your Honeymoon, Anniversary or just for that special treat to spoil yourself and enjoy the best of both with the Jacuzzi (Hot Tub) and access to the pool from the private timber deck from the balcony area.

The balcony area opens onto a pool deck giving you direct access to the pool, while in your own private courtyard is a large Jacuzzi (Hot Tub) to relax in after that long day out.

Internally these apartments have all the facilities and features of the 1 bedroom apartment.

2 BEDROOM APARTMENTS

2 BEDROOM 2 BATHROOM APARTMENTS

The main 1 bedroom apartment is the fully self contained apartment, with a king bed, the beds can be split to twin share if required, spa bath with separate shower, full kitchen with lounge/dining area and outdoor balcony to sit out on.

The 2nd room, being the studio has a kitchenette with a dining table, bathroom with shower recess, king bed and outdoor balcony also.

The apartments also have the feature of direct pool access from the 2 balcony areas of the dual key apartments or a Jacuzzi (Hot Tub) in the private courtyard.

2 BEDROOM 2 BATHROOM APARTMENTS

This apartment is the only one of a kind apartment that we have, the 2 bedrooms interconnect to a 2-way bathroom, the main bedroom has a king bed and the 2nd bedroom has a queen bed (The king bed can be split to 2 singles, please request this when booking).

The modern bathroom has a spa bath/shower over bath and is spacious. Full kitchen, dining/lounge area, with outdoor balcony to sit out on for Breakfast or an afternoon cool drink.
